Description
Starter plant in 2.5″ growers pot, similar to the second and third photo. Alocasia are stunning members of the Elephant Ear family. It makes a wonderful addition to any tropical landscape and home. They may be container grown indoors or out, provided they have bright, but not direct sunlight. They grow to 8 – 12 inches tall and produce new shoots periodically, creating a dense cluster in no time. A 20-20-20 soluble is the best fertilizer for them, once per month. As with all elephant ears, they do not take well to cold weather and may die back to the soil line, but will come right back as soon as the temperature warms. If ground freezing in your area is common, we suggest keeping them in containers, in-ground and removing them when an overnight freeze is imminent. They do not like to dry out or be too wet, keep evenly moist, not wet or dry! Alocasia will live indefinitely in containers if proper care is given and is an excellent indoor plant! Alocasia Sarian is a hybrid of Alocasia zebrina and A. micholitziana. It features leathery, wavy-edged, arrowhead-shaped, dark green, upward pointing leaves. The leaves have wide, bright white main veins and long, thick, striped petioles.

Gorgeous little Sarian plant. Bigger than I expected for Hirsts, which is great! Highly recommend them! Bought their fairy trio. Adorbs!

This arrived potted and the pot was protected well. Unfortunately, the leaves were not, so they were destroyed in shipping. I still have a tiny baby leaf that unfurled though!

What an unusual plant. This shop always offers interesting plants at reasonable prices. Minor leaf damage from shipping but new leaves are already coming in. Great!
