Description
This is the World Record Hottest Chili, Carolina Reaper pepper. It is beautiful with a bright red rough surface and a long stinger. But don’t let looks fool you! This pepper got its name for a reason. Be very, very careful using this pepper. Those who don’t fear the Reaper are fools. Scoville: 1.474 million. The Carolina Reaper is a hybrid chili pepper of the Capsicum chinense species, originally called the “HP22B”, bred by cultivator Ed Currie. The Carolina Reaper was rated as the world’s hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records according to 2012 tests, averaging 1,569,300 SHU on the Scoville scale with peak levels of over 2,200,000 SHU. The previous record-holder was the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion. The cost to Currie to obtain the evidence to claim the Guinness record was $12,000.
Avery Delmaine –
The plants came perfectly packaged, were exactly as described with great roots and not leggy, and are growing fantastically after transplanting!

Wow the plants I received are stunning and much more mature than I expected. I am honestly blown away I will absolutely be ordering from this seller again and would highly recommend.

I’ve grown Reapers for years, but became tired of the higher failure rate I experienced from propagating by seed. I was a little leery of ordering a seedling online, but HirtsGardens came through in a big way.
1. The plant was shipped in roughly 30 hours.
2. Super fast delivery
3. The reaper arrived not only healthy, but of respectable size and protected by intelligent packaging.
It’s only been 3 weeks and my Reaper is already starting to flower!
Bravo, HirtsGardens! Bravo!

I was really impressed with the size and overall condition of the plant. I followed the instructions and hardened it off over about 10-14 days and it’s doing well in the garden. All of the plants I’ve bought from Hirts were of excellent size and health. I plan to buy from them again in the future.
Thanks!
