Description

80 Seeds The story of the Walla Walla Sweet Onions began over a century ago on the Island of Corsica, off the west coast of Italy. It was there that a French soldier, Peter Pieri, found a sweet onion seed and brought it to the Walla Walla Valley. This Sweet onion developed over generations through the process of carefully hand selecting onions from each year’s crop, ensuring exceptional sweetness, jumbo size, and round shape. Today’s growers realize they’re not just raising sweet onions, but cultivating a tradition. The Walla Walla onion is mild enough to eat like an apple! Non-pungent aroma, too. Grows to 4 inches across.

Fast shipment – I received in just a matter of days. Excellent packaging! My fig tree arrived in perfect condition and exactly as described – very healthy – absolutely no damage. Very happy with the item I ordered and the shipment.
For anyone who orders live plants – make sure that upon delivery you immediately open the box and remove the plants. I removed the packaging holding the soil in the container, watered my plant and then placed on my sunny kitchen window sill to condition for a week or so before moving outside. I will re-pot in a month or two (when I begin to see roots coming out of the pot the fig was shipped in). I will be ordering from Hirt’s again in the future.

I received the bareroot plants on 3/2, planted them immediately, now 4 weeks passed, they all sprout and look healthy. 5 of them are more green than white.

Working on a memorial garden with mostly hosta plants. Saw these and thought different. Received plants quickly and was surprised at the nice size for the price. Plants are very healthy. Keeping in house until ready to plant in WNY state. These will be perfect for location. Didn’t want a solid green…deer prefer those. Very happy with purchase, service and the quality! Excellent!!!
