Hoya Carnosa “Krinkle 8″ plant with unique dimpled leaves. You are purchasing a well established starter plant, similar to the plant shown in the picture. If the stem is not as long as pictured, then more than one stem will be included. This is a tropical floral house plant. Ideal indoor or houseplants, these succulents are relatively easy to grow. They like humidity. Living gift. Unique and hard-to-find. Hoya live for a very long time, making them great living gifts. It’s a great gift for mom. Plant ships in Pot. This is a live plant. Care: Peak growth season; Spring / Autumn Dormant: Summer Propagation: Take cuttings during growth season, Spring is ideal. Some morning sun okay, lots of unfiltered light. Water when soil is dry to the touch. Will require more water in the Summer. WATER: Speaking of water – water is the most dangerous thing to your succulent plant. More succulents die from overwatering than underwatering. A couple tips to help: • The chubbier the leaves, the less water it will need (chubbier leaves hold more water). • Succulents can rebound from underwatering much easier than overwatering. • Always make sure you use a well-draining potting soil and a pot with at least one drainage hole. • Always make sure the soil is dry to the touch before watering. What to watch for as you go through the seasons with your new plant: *Disclaimer: these are general tips, you do need to get to know your plants and acclimate them to your own environment. • Wrinkled and/or deflated leaves = plant needs water • Mushy, yellowing or black leaves = plant needs less water (if leaves are really mushy, remove from pot and place in good ventilation to expedite drying out) • Little fuzzy web-like white balls = mealy bugs • Little round flat scab-like brown patches that wipe off easily = scale bugs **If you see bugs you can start to control them by spraying with diluted isopropyl rubbing alcohol. First remove your succulent from direct sun and do not spray too close (recommend 6″ away), saturate the base of the leaves and stem and leave in good air circulation to allow alcohol to evaporate. Cutting Only : Plant Cutting propagation can be done in water or soil, but once it begins, the plant has difficult switching to the other growing medium. If you place the cutting in water, the plant should remain in water once it grows larger. The same goes for a cutting propagated in the soil. It is normal for your cutting to shed a few leaves over time, but if you are seeing increased leaf loss, there might be an underlying problem. If your cutting plant has distorted leaf growth, this may be due to nutrient and/or light deficiencies, insect infestations, or too little water. Mealybugs and scale often take up residence on the plant, and can be removed with an alcohol-soaked cotton ball. If the cutting plant leaf tips are turning brown, this is a sign of low humidity. To solve this problem, you can lightly spray your plant with water or place it in a room with a humidifier. Bare Root Only : Soil: Lightweight, well-aerated, fast-draining growing medium Container: Use a small sized pot that keeps the roots tightly packed; Drainage holes are a must Light: Although this plant will survive in low light conditions, bright indirect sunlight is best Temperature: Daytime 70 F (21 C) and above, nighttime 60-65 F (16-18 C) Humidity: Higher humidity than average household levels (40-60 percent) Watering: Water when the soil is almost dry during growth phase, infrequently during winter Fertilizing: Feed monthly with diluted water-soluble fertilizer only in spring and summer Potted plant Only : DO NOT WATER YOUR PLANT for at least 2-3 days. DO NOT RE-POT for at least 6-8 weeks. Your plant Needs to settle and acclimate. Some leaves might drop or turn yellow.
