Shiny, black fruits have a purple calyx and mature 9-12″ long with a mild, delicate flavor. Very vigorous and good for open field growing and home gardens. Relatively late maturing plant has an upright growth habit. Maturity: Approx. 60 days from transplant Planting season: Late spring/summer Germination rate 75%; tested 04/2021 Name Origin: 久留米市九州 Kurume is an inland city on Japan’s Kyushu Island Some eggplant growing Tips: – Start seeds indoor (with grow light & heating pad if possible) about 6-8 weeks before the last frost. – Transplant about couple weeks after the last frost. – Full sun is preferred. If partial shade, afternoon sun is a must. Rotate crop every year, if possible. – Ideal pH level is between 5.5 and 7.2. – Fertile well drained soil preferred. Add as much of organic matters as possible. – Space seedlings 18-24″ apart; space rows 2-3′ apart – Use weed blocker (or uv-rated black plastic) to retain heat & moisture.

Of course I won’t know how good the seeds are until planting season when I see how well they germinate and find out how well they produce but the seeds were packaged securely in a plastic bag and then the packet was wrapped with foam in an envelope. They were delivered to my mailbox fairly quickly.
