20 Seeds Japanese Yamato Sanjaku burpless long cucumber seeds 大和三尺胡瓜きゅうり Cucumis sativus; Kitazawa Seed #016 Germination rate 85%; tested 08/2021. This traditional variety is from the historic Yamato 大和 Province now known as Nara Prefecture of Japan. Sanjaku 三尺 means three feet. This cucumber variety produces a generous crop of remarkably long, narrow fruit. It is best if harvested up to 2 feet long with a 2″ diameter. The fruits have white flesh, relatively small seed cavity, and sweet flavor. It has a monecious flowering habit (plant produces both male and female flowers) and moderate resistance to both downy and powdery mildew. Mature in 50-75 days. Best plant in late spring to early summer. Do not transplant too early as seedlings could be stunned by the late frost or chilly nights. Need more seeds? Large size packet has 100 seeds.
