2-gram or about 400 Seeds OKA HIJIKI Japanese Seaweed Mustard seeds; Land Seaweed; おかひじき-陸鹿尾菜; ミルナ水松菜; Kitazawa #191 Also known as “seaweed on land” or saltwort, this nutritious, grass-like green grows wild in Japan’s salt marshes and is also commercially cultivated. Its 12” long, matchstick leaves are excellent sources of vitamin A, calcium and potassium. Tender, young leaves are appreciated for their tart, salty flavor and succulent texture and are mainly eaten fresh or lightly steamed. Also grown as microgreens. Cool season annual Maturity: Approx. 30-40 days Planting season: Spring to early summer or early fall Salsola komarovii is an annual plant native to China, Korea, Japan and eastern Russia. It grows to a height of 8 to 20″. It is cultivated as a vegetable; the leaves and young shoots are eaten. In Japanese it is known as okahijiki which translates as “land seaweed”
