Top Bunch 2.0 Collard is the second generation in the Top Bunch line. This early maturing Georgia-type hybrid from Sakata has wavy, lightly savoyed blue-green leaves that re-grow quickly after harvest. Upright plants are both Heat-tolerant and cold-tolerant. Slow to bolt and are a top choice for fresh market bunching and for processing. Disease resistant: black rot, black leg. Sow seeds indoor 4-6 weeks before transplant. Transplant outdoors 12–18″ apart in rows 18–36″ apart. Collards prefer cooler growing temperatures, between 55–75°F Typically grown as autumn crop, but can be winter crop for areas that rarely dip below 32F. Harvest begins about 2 months after transplanting, harvest by clipping individual leaves. Collards are very hardy, and the eating quality will improve into the late fall with light frost.
