1000 Seeds MITOYO NASU Japanese Eggplant seeds; 三豊なす 三豊茄子; Solanum melongena Mitoyo Nasu is a variety traditionally grown in Mitoyo City of Kagawa Prefecture 香川県三豊市. It is one of the tastiest varieties available, Mitoyo stands out for it’s deep purple, practically black appearance, even the crown and stem are black on these! They’re so sweet you can eat them raw, and even when they’re over-ripe for seed saving, they still don’t get bitter. Eggplants have thin skin and about the size some where from baseball to softball. They average 10-16 ounces each, but may get smaller toward the end of the season. Expect good production from this variety. Use them raw, or you can cook, bake, roast, or pickle them. Plants grow 3-4 feet tall.
