Description
100 Seeds Grandpa Ott’s Morning Glory is a stunning velvety deep violet flower on extremely vigorous, up to 15 ft. long vines with large heart-shaped leaves. Blooms up to 3 inches wide will cover the vines and open to reveal bright pink-red starred throats in the morning that are very attractive to hummingbirds. Incredibly easy to grow, it will self sow even in cold climates. Though it is grown as an annual, it can survive as a perennial in Zones 10 and 11. Species: Morning Glory, Grandpa Ott Days to Germinate: 7-14 Days to Bloom: 90-120 Bloom Diameter: 3-5 inches Plant Height: 10-15 feet vines Germination Rate: 96% Test Date: 11/21 Lifespan: Annual; Perennial in Zones 10 and 11 Country of Origin: United States Sunlight: Full Sun, Partial Shade Seeds Packed For: 2022 Planting Instructions: Sow seeds in spring just below the soil surface at 70F. Keep moist. These plants do well in well-drained moist soil, but tolerate reasonably dry soil. They prefer full sun. The vines grow very quickly, especially in heat; they will need significant support such as a fence or arbor. Without support, they will simply trail along the ground until they find something to climb. This plant self-sows readily and attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Spacing: 8-10 inches

Planted a few indoors. They are sprouting.

They’re growing up lovely! Keep in mind that they will latch on to and grow around pretty much anything they’re around (mine and my sunflower have become best friends), so make sure you have something for them to climb

Really took off! Directly sowed, germinated in a week, and in a month already latched onto our lattice. 2 month update—Don’t see any purple yet, which is why I bought these, but still lovely and only time will tell. Really grow and spread fast and they latch onto everything!
