Description

RUDBECKIA: Wonderful, free flowering daisies in colors from yellow to bronze and mahogany. You can have them for years, but the original plants will only last a season or two. The plants self-seed readily, and if you learn to recognize the slightly hairy seedlings and allow a few to develop where you want them, you can have as many as you want. Black-Eyed Susan ‘Goldsturm’ (Rudbeckia fulgida). Bushy, vigorous 2-foot plants are hardy sun-lovers! Big, Colorful Blooms Bring in the Butterflies! 3-inch yellow daisies offer a mass of color over a long mid- and late-summer season! One of gardeners’ favorites for long-lasting, lush color that brings home the butterflies, Goldsturm Strain is a trouble-free, floriferous perennial that drenches the mid- to late-summer garden with sunny color! These 2-foot plants send up numerous long, sturdy stems, each bearing a 3-inch bloom with a prominent black center and slightly recurved golden petals. The strong stems are ideal for cutting! Very easy to grow in any sunny spot, Goldsturm Strain is long-lived and free-blooming. It has all the advantages of African Marigolds, plus better heat and drought tolerance!

Arrived super moist and well packed. I was a little concerned at first because one or two of them were totally leafless, but then I found the note indicating that some of them would have died back for the winter. I forget that is a thing because I am in zone 9-10. Upon removing them from the pots they shipped in, I found they have super, super vigorous root systems. It’s already pretty balmy where I am, and the leafless ones are already putting out some new growth. First time with this variety and I look forward to seeing how they do.
