Description
TOMATO: Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, and the seeds are high in fiber. The green parts are mildly poisonous, which is not surprising, as tomatoes are closely related to both nightshade and tobacco. The tomato was originally believed to be poisonous when introduced into Europe, and was used solely as an ornamental plant during the 16th and 17th centuries. The first traces of its use as a food date back to the first half of the 18th century. Tomatoes are now a tasty ingredient in many dishes, and are used fresh, canned, stewed or even sun-dried. Black Krim Tomato: Plant must be staked or caged, flattened, globe shaped, 8 – 12 oz., dark red-purple fruit with delicate skin, green shoulders, green tinted flesh, full flavor with slight saltiness that enhances the taste, very juicy.

I was very pleased with the quality and size of two Black Krim tomato plants I received. They were perfectly packed and arrived much quicker than I expected.

Both of these came extremely tall, not sure if leggy or that’s just how the variety is. Neither made it through 48 hours in our high winds despite hardening them off (I thought) sufficiently, ended up replacing them with tomatoes from home depot which are doing well. The replacement tomatoes went straight in the ground without hardening off and have been fine without fuss.
They shipped very fast. One came in kind of rough shape but the other was in good shape. I did get a refund of the one that was in bad shape. Would recommend the seller but maybe not this variety of tomato if you live in a windy area.
