25 Seeds Dosakkai INDIAN heirloom cucumber seeds (Cucumis sativus L. var. sativus) A round yellow variety popular in Andhra Pradesh. Lemon sized and shaped. Can be used in fresh in salads. It can also be cooked to make pacchadi, with dal in pappu, or dried and fried into Wadiyam. Seeds are treated. Growing Tips: – do not transplant too early. Here is Chicago SW burb, late May (Memorial Day weekend) is much safer than early May (Mothers Day weekend) – Partial shade is fine. Cover ground with mulching material if you get a lot of sun in the afternoon. – Provide climbing structures such as meshed wire, bean net, arbor, trellis..etc. – Try pick yellow creaming fruits within two weeks after flowering; let the mature russet browns mature later in the season. – Pinch off the rest of the “branch” once female fruit is found; this will provide “bushy” vine growth & bigger fruits. P.S. According to folklore, Greco-Roman brought cucumber seeds from India back to Europe two thousand some years ago.

Of course I won’t know how good the seeds are until planting season when I see how well they germinate and find out how well they produce but the seeds were packaged securely in a plastic bag and then the packet was wrapped with foam in an envelope. They were delivered to my mailbox fairly quickly.

Planted these in 6 pack, 5-6 seeds per cell, and germination was high. Note. Plant the entire cells worth and just pull off as needed
