The fruits grow up to 3-4″ long. Plant has a spreading habit and produces prolifically. Good for garden, greenhouse, and open field growing. Got a slight hot pepper touch, just 50 – 200 on Scoville Scale. Warm season annual Maturity: Approx. 60 days Planting season: Late spring/summer Germination rate 99%, tested 10/26/2021 Some growing tips: – sow seeds indoor about 6-8 weeks before the last frost – optimum germination occurs at 75–85°F soil, hence heat mat would be ideal. – for garden bed, well worked fertile soil is preferred, try to rotate around the garden (i.e. don’t plant the same veggie on the same spot every year) – transplant about 2 weeks after the last frost. space seedlings 2-ft apart; space rows at least 3-ft apart – full sun is preferred. If you are in sunbelt states with scorching sun in the afternoon, then partial shade is fine. – cover soil surface with black poly or weed blocker could warm the soil to speed up growth – always harvest peppers on regular basis to promote continuous flowering & fruiting – stake support may be required when it becomes too bushy and not able to stand straight up or withstand heavy wind – if there are aphids trouble, try vinegar spray. for other insect troubles, try neem oil & dish detergent diluted in water. Do not use chemical pesticide if all possible – if you can overwinter couple shishito plants indoor, you can double or triple the harvest with a head start!
