Description
(1/4 oz) 1500+Seeds Medium serrated leaf Tong Ho veggie seeds, a.k.a. Glebionis coronaria, Tong Hao, Chrysanthemum coronarium, garland chrysanthemum, crown daisy, sukiyaki green, 中切葉茼蒿, 秋菊,Shungiku, Cải Cúc A 1/4 oz packet has about 1500 seeds, good for about 30 to 40 sq-ft of garden plot. Typically seeds are sowed during early spring or late summer. Great autumn crop as it would not flower or bolt or turned bitter taste like the spring crop, and can survive light frost. In ideal planting condition, harvesting 10-20 pounds of tong hao is possible (also, cut high and leave lower branches for continuous growth). This culinary leafy herb veggie is great for stir fry, or soup, hot pot, or sukiyaki. Need more seeds? 1-OZ packet has about 6,000 seeds. Tong Ho is very ornamental. You can grow them like wild flower patch. as part of edible landscape. Here in Chicago SW ‘burb zone 5B, I would direct sow the seeds by mid to late August, and begin harvest the tender stems by late September to early October. Always thin out the crowded area to ensure adequate nutrient among competing neighbors. Two ways to sow: 1. rows method: use garden hand shovel or end of rake handle to carve out a shallow ditch no more than half inch deep, rows should be at least 4″ apart. Spread the seeds no more than 5-10 seeds per inch. cover with 1/4″ fine soil. Keep the soil moist for about a week (water twice a day in hot dry area) and seeds should germinate quickly within 5-7 days. 2. broadcast method: once soil is worked/tilled and leveled with rake, broadcast the seeds evenly, rake the seeds with top-down motion, but make sure seeds don’t get buried too deep. Some seeds will end up on or near the surface (won’t germinate well as soil get dried up often); some seeds might be buried too deep unable to reach the surface. But figure half of the seeds should germinate based on probability and raking proficiency.

I had my first harvest of the tong Ho in about 1 month. I share them with my grandpa and he enjoyed them very much. I ordered the smallest quantity and they will probably last me till next year. Will buy from this seller again for sure.

I ordered a ton of seeds and they all arrived super fast, just as described. I’m looking forward to building my own garden – the Mongolian Giant sunflowers I ordered already sprouted!!

This had great germination! The package shipped promptly and on time. The seeds were packed well and arrive in perfect condition. This is enough seeds for a couple of years, and great deal on a hard to find variety of seeds.
